MADSTEEZ

Mark Paul Deren known as MADSTEEZ is an artist based in California but you can find his work all over. 

What stands out to me the most about MADSTEEZ is his distinct use of the color purple in almost all his work and his exquisite attention to detail.

 His attention to detail and use of color automatically catches your eye. He has painted some of the world's most famous celebrities such as Prince, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and Jada Pinkett Smith.

Chris Brown's Eighth Studio Album 

         Heartbreak on a Full Moon isn't just an ordinary album its a DOUBLE album consisting of 45 songs. While this may seem like a lot it definitely isn't a suprise coming from such a high level talent like Chris Brown and an artist who admitted to having about 3,000 UNHEARD songs. Brown has been consistently putting out hits for 15 years its and it's no suprise this album has already went GOLD. Definitely one of his best projects and definitely in my personal top 3 from CB. Chris Brown is also, THE greatest performer for this generation whether you like it or not! So, hopefully we can get a HBOAFM Tour soon..... CB has also, been seen painting more and more which is dope to see. Channeling all the negativeand positive energy into something positive and creating ART.

"- I'm sitting in my  room listening to the rain pour and I cant help but feel a bit nostalgic. This month will make two years since i originally began this blog. I am more than grateful for everyone's support especially those who've been rocking with me since I began and originally started with the name "Visionaries at Work". A few people began with it just to be down but didn't even put any work in. I had to cut off dead weight and reevaluate. HOWEVER things are just beginning. I FOUNDED CREATIVE UNDERDOGS and my vision is in motion now and its not only a name its a lifestyle, an emotion, a brand , a feel and a VIBE. Being creative is everything to me and being doubted and dealing with frustrations as an underdog helps fuel that tank as well.. hence the name CREATIVE UNDERDOGS.

Personal friends of mine , Danielle Bagley born in Jersey but raised in Harlem & Christian  Lopez from Throggs Neck, Bronx, NY are better known for their stage names Danni.B & Kit The poet .

Nells: When did you guys start making music ? 

DANNI : 2012

KIT THE POET:  I started making music around my junior year of high school when creative writing was my favorite class to attend on a day to day basis. That class allowed me to take my writing to the next level.  Danielle, I actually had the pleasure of meeting my sophomore year. I always knew she was a star by the way she performed on stage and her confidence always gave her this glow. She left during my junior year and ended up returning my senior year and that’s when we really recognized ourselves as different from the rest. The chemistry has always been there because we have a solid friendship behind the title Urban Elite. When we posted music back then, it was always a fun experience, it never felt like work and I think people who listened recognized that and rolled with it.

 Mikey Dubz is an artist Born and raised in Los Angeles, at only 20 years old he's had an ear for music ever since he was a baby stating ".. I started making music when i was in diapers..." Nells catches up with him to get to know him more and what drives his creativity..

 When did you start making music ?And What made you  get into music ?

Dubz: I started making music when I was in diapers, it's nothing new. Was playing piano at 5 which lead to me playing guitar,drums ,bass, harmonica, started singing rapping and then everything started to tie in together. A major part of what inspired me was My uncle who always pushed me towards music. He played piano for bobby brown and had worked with so many crazy huge artist and to look back at it now I can say I looked up to him a lot and it's crazy to think how much he inspired me.

What does being creative mean to you? 

Dubz: to me being creative is being able free your mind and bring any thought, any moment you've ever had, or  anything you've ever experienced to life, into something physical something others can feel.

BuuVINCHI's THE LOOKBOOK EP

The talented Queens rapper BuuVINCHI recently released his new EP "THE LOOKBOOK".

 

THE LOOKBOOK EP is the most recent project released by the MC. BuuVINCHI delivers bar after bar over many diverse beats mainly produced Levgue Champs. With his unique style BuuVINCHI feared that no one would understand his music but, his distinct sound and bars stand out amongst the rest and this tape is surely his best work to date.

The tape starts out strong with "Spazz Out" where he raps about his frustrations and calling out the fake people in his life by saying "dont show me no fake love, dont fuck with me if you dont fuck with me".
Another notable highlight is the song "HYPEBEAST" where BuuVINCHI raps about fashion and how his passion for fashion is nothing new. The EP consists of seven songs which each have their own unique beats and BuuVINCHI's voice and bars seem to flow effortlessly on each song. Make sure to listen to his new EP. Link below.

Supreme x Jordan Brand Release

Recently news broke that the highly anticipated Jordan 5 x Supreme collection will be releasing on Thursday, October 15th with its first two colorways and the third on October 31st. Unfortunately, a photograph has surfaced of NYC's SoHo Supreme store announcing that they will only be released online. This decision may have come from the shut down of the Supreme x Foamposite release back in 2014 due to safety reasons. It is speculated that the Los Angeles store will also not be selling the shoes in store.
In a lighter note at a photo shoot at Terry Richardson's studio, Michael Jordan himself debuted a shirt for the brands collaboration, this leaves many to believe that a full apparel line is to come with the releases but we would just have to wait and see.

Talking to Maryland's Finest

 This summer I was able to get in contact with my good friend Earl. It was important for me to interview him because he is a man with two trades. He has his own clothing line and he makes music. I was very careful on what questions to ask him because I know my friend  and how he would respond. Hahaha let's see what Yonder said...

1. First introduce yourself.(where you from)

Earl from Yonder from Severn, MD…410 till the death of me.

2.What are your favorite hobbies?

3. Explain how you came up with the name Yonder and what does it mean to you ?

Yonder was the name niggas gave me when I was around 12-13 because my cousins thought i was beyond my time…so swag me out.

4. When did you know you had a love for fashion?

Around the time they started calling me Yonder…I never wanted to see niggas in the same clothes I had so I would alter or make 1 of 1s for myself.

5. How old were you when you started your clothing Line Yonder?

I released the brand when I was 16…but it was always a brand in my head…but Yonder is more than that its a community and a lifestyle.

SoundView's Very Own SwaggMilliano

RnB artist/ rapper SwaggMilliano has a unique sound and style that is unmatched. He sings about everything from growing up in the Bronx to the obstacles he faces in life, love and his own personal experiences while being able to combine the genres Drill and RnB to create something smooth known as "Drill RnB".  Nells was recently able to get in contact with Swagg and get an interview.

Q: Where are you from/where did you grow up? 
A: I'm from the South Bronx,New York and was born and raised in Soundview Projects. My name is Johnny Cashes and I go by Swagg Milliano or for shorts Swagg Milly Da Billy.

Q: Why did you choose to make music?

A: I use to play basketball in High School when I was in California, but then I moved back to the Bronx where basketball was less of an interest for me. I started listening to artist such as Trey Songz & Fabolous, huge influences to me when it came down to music due to there lyrical ways and flow. Then I decided to write my own music which got me where I am at now.

Q:Tell us a little bit about the MillianoBoyz

A: I am the Milliano Boyz. I'm the face of the brand and I feel like it's up to me to get the team in the door. We have a mixture of Hip Hop & R&B, Melly Milliano & Braxx Milliano are the new generation with this new rap culture and I got faith in them 100%. As for me, I'm more on the R&B side. We coming for the face of this new music culture and we won't stop until we get the top spot.

Q: I’ve noticed your sound is something different and you call it a new genre known as “Drill RnB”... how would you describe “Drill RnB”?

A: Drill is the new Chicago sound, and where I'm from there's a lot of violence and police sirens so there is a lot of comparison between the two. I just simply started singing about the things me & my homies see & go thru daily and that's where "Drill R&B" comes from by combining the two genres. 

Q: It seems every time I go on Instagram I see you promoting your music or shooting a video or performing…. How hard do you work & how are you able to constantly make songs?

A: With this music game there's no time for breaks or time to sleep because while you're sleeping or taking a break the next man is working harder then you are, so I'm working 24/7. I can write 3-4 songs a day or even more if I'm highly influenced and I feel like I can write and record a whole mixtape in less then a month.
