SoundView's Very Own SwaggMilliano

RnB artist/ rapper SwaggMilliano has a unique sound and style that is unmatched. He sings about everything from growing up in the Bronx to the obstacles he faces in life, love and his own personal experiences while being able to combine the genres Drill and RnB to create something smooth known as "Drill RnB".  Nells was recently able to get in contact with Swagg and get an interview.

Q: Where are you from/where did you grow up?
A: I'm from the South Bronx,New York and was born and raised in Soundview Projects. My name is Johnny Cashes and I go by Swagg Milliano or for shorts Swagg Milly Da Billy.

Q: Why did you choose to make music?
A: I use to play basketball in High School when I was in California, but then I moved back to the Bronx where basketball was less of an interest for me. I started listening to artist such as Trey Songz & Fabolous, huge influences to me when it came down to music due to there lyrical ways and flow. Then I decided to write my own music which got me where I am at now.

Q:Tell us a little bit about the MillianoBoyz
A: I am the Milliano Boyz. I'm the face of the brand and I feel like it's up to me to get the team in the door. We have a mixture of Hip Hop & R&B, Melly Milliano & Braxx Milliano are the new generation with this new rap culture and I got faith in them 100%. As for me, I'm more on the R&B side. We coming for the face of this new music culture and we won't stop until we get the top spot.

Q: I’ve noticed your sound is something different and you call it a new genre known as “Drill RnB”... how would you describe “Drill RnB”?
A: Drill is the new Chicago sound, and where I'm from there's a lot of violence and police sirens so there is a lot of comparison between the two. I just simply started singing about the things me & my homies see & go thru daily and that's where "Drill R&B" comes from by combining the two genres.

Q: It seems every time I go on Instagram I see you promoting your music or shooting a video or performing…. How hard do you work & how are you able to constantly make songs?
A: With this music game there's no time for breaks or time to sleep because while you're sleeping or taking a break the next man is working harder then you are, so I'm working 24/7. I can write 3-4 songs a day or even more if I'm highly influenced and I feel like I can write and record a whole mixtape in less then a month.

Q: If you could collaborate with any artists would who they be?
A :If I could collaborate with any artists it would be with Trey Songz, Fabolous, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, Jhene Aiko, Dej Loaf, Drake, Lil Durk, Chief Keef, Jeremih, Lil Bibby, & the list can go on.

Q: All of us on Team V.A.W are from the Bronx and we know some of the pressures and obstacles you face being young and growing up out here….How has music had a positive effect on your life?
A: Growing up in the Bronx I feel like everyone is pressured on staying focused for the better. The music keeps me focused and out of the streets less, although the streets is where I get a lot of the messages I give out to the listeners as well. I want to be able to take my brothers out of the streets with this music and I also want to take care of my family when all is said and done.

Q: How important is it for you to remain humble and never forget where you came from regardless of how successful you become?
A: My music is basically about my lifestyle so I could never forget where I come from. Being humble is always something I live by, but on another note when you grew up with really nothing it's like who's telling you what when you have it all, it's not like you didn't work for it so you can talk about it. I can't fake it until I make it so when I do have it best believe I will be talking about everything I've worked hard for.

Q: What are you currently working on and what are your goals for the future?
A: I'm currently working on more shows to get heard and seen a lot more. I'm also working on my next project called "Love & R&B" where a lot of ladies and males as well can relate. I feel like this mixtape will be twice as better then "Drill R&B" for the simple fact that it's real feelings and relative feelings as well.

Q: Where can people find you & your music?
